A Backyard Country Wedding in Texarkana, Arkansas | Ford and Sonja
As Sonja and her family sat upon hay bales in the back of a flat-bed trailer pulled by a tractor on the way to her wedding ceremony, Rylan leaned over and said, “you know… this isn’t a normal wedding.”
Everyone laughed and Sonja replied, “You’re right. But if I’m going to get married, I’m going to do it my way."
And her way was just perfect.
Sonja and Ford’s closest friends and family joined them on Ford’s family’s property to celebrate their marriage last Sunday. Their day was one of the most laid back, non-traditional wedding days I’ve ever photographed… and I loved. every. single. second. of. it. From Sonja’s knee-high white UGG boots to the hay bales their guests sat on as they said “I do”, every single detail of their backyard country wedding fit the couple absolutely perfectly. We could not have been more excited to shoot their ceremony in a giant field, their portraits in a grove of pine trees, and their poolside reception in one of the prettiest backyards I’ve ever seen.
Sonja and Ford (and family!), thank you for being so welcoming to Lucas and I and treating us like part of the family. Seriously. We were so, SO blown away by your hospitality and kindness. You guys are so much more than just clients to us, and it was an honor and privilege to be a part of your day. We wish you the absolute best in New Mexico, and seriously… let us know next time you’re in town. :)
