March Highlights & May Goals

Oh hey, May. (See what I did there? I thought it was clever. Anyway.)

April was a beautiful, restful month. Yes, I photographed three weddings and an engagement session, but it was good. So, so good. Yes, I've been busy and have felt like 8 hours is never quite enough time to get everything done each day, but I've really enjoyed the pace. From driving to Huntsville for Will and Aisha's wedding to spending time in Nashville for Luke's birthday, we've also had a lot of wonderful adventures this month. And gotten to spend quite a bit of time with kittens. :) Lucas and I also celebrated our three year date-iversary, which is a bit crazy. I know in the grand scheme of things, three years together isn't all that long, but looking back over everything we've been together since that stormy day in 2011, it feels like we've been together forever.

And May is going to be even more wonderful. Next month, I'm going to be photographing 8 weddings and 2 engagements in 9 different cities. 4 different states. 4 crazy, crazy weeks and lots of road trips, late nights, and coffee. I get to see my family for the first time in months, and I'm excited about that. And besides that, I'm afraid to make too many other plans, because I know life is already going to be crazy. In the midst of it all, though, I want to remain faithful. Continue to grow in my character, serve others well, and manage my time better. Dream big, but be wise. Whatever that means. Read more, go for more walks, and watch more sunsets.

And as I sit here in front of a blinking cursor, thinking about what May brings, I'm both excited and a bit frightened. May is sure to be my busiest month as a full time wedding photographer to date, and while I could not be more excited to serve each and every one of my brides, I also can't help but feel a little bit overwhelmed and exhausted at such a crazy schedule. But honestly? I absolutely wouldn't have it any other way.
