May Highlights & June Goals
So umm...Hey again.
It's been 6 weeks since I've blogged anything besides my work, and I'm feeling a bit of blogging failure as I sit in front of my blinking cursor this morning. It feels a bit like it does whenever you go a long time without talking to a good friend, and when you sit down to catch up, you're not really sure where to start. So you just say, "well, umm, I guess not much has happened, really..."
A whole lot of not very much yet so very much at the same time has happened during the month of May.
Lucas and I celebrated our one year anniversary. Can you believe it? It seriously seems like we were just married last month. We've been traveling all over the place. In May, I went to Starkville MS, Waco TX, Memphis TN (on three separate occasions!), Nashville TN, Dallas TX, and several various cities around Arkansas (Little Rock, Texarkana, Searcy, various tiny towns, etc.) for work. Lucas and I also went to New Orleans for our anniversary and saw real life alligators in a real life swamp. From a couple of feet away. Best day ever. At one point, I was home for a total of 40-ish hours total in six days. I really missed my husband. I've learned that traveling is a wonderful, beautiful thing... but hotel rooms everywhere kind of look the same and when you're traveling for work, there isn't a whole lot of time to play and see the world. But I wouldn't change a thing. I also learned that, as much as I want to, I just can't edit my work in the car. The glare on the screen + the jostling of the monitor + carsickness = inability to see what I'm doing and feeling a bit gross. At some point during all of the business, I realized that the one year anniversary of my first wedding as a full time photographer had passed and I've really, truly been chasing this crazy little dream of mine with all of my heart for over a year now. And that's insane. And deserves a blog post all of it's own. And finally........ I still don't have a kitten. Boo. :)
I know that June is already half over, but I'm excited about the rest of it! Things are going to slow down a bit SOON (which I'm WAY excited for!!), but we still have lots of adventures planned for the rest of the month! I've already done an engagement session, bridals, and Matt and Heather's wedding... and Alex and Chris are getting married TOMORROW! :) Then we're going to spontaneously go to Rogers to see some friends whom I haven't seen in FOREVER and meet up one of our fall couples! We haven't met yet, but I know I'm going to love them!! We get to attend a wedding or two (depending on if we can swing it!) as guests in a couple of weeks! I can't even remember the last time we did that!! Finally, we have an engagement session at the end of the month that I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT. I mean. I'm excited about all of my couples. But I know this one is going to be particularly wonderful. :)
So. Here's to the beginning of summer and this crazy thing called life. And to learning how to be faithful, no matter how busy life gets.
