Our Everyday Adventures | Edition 2
I promise that I won't say this every week, but this week it just really needs to be said: I can't believe it's been a week since last Friday!
Seriously - where did this week go!?
Anyway, last week I started a new series called Our Everyday Adventures - so if you didn't catch that one and aren't sure what's going on, go ahead and head right over here to get caught up!
Our Everyday Adventures — November 14-20:
— Growing up, I had a very specific idea of the type of man I wanted to marry. You know, the worship-leader-vegetarian-hipster-city-boy type. Well. It turns out the Lord knows what I needed better than I do and I ended up marrying the exact opposite. The meat-loving-country-boy-i-wore-flannel-before-it-was-cool type. And although I wouldn't change that for the world, I'm still getting used to all of the implications of this fact. Like for the first time in the five years we've known each other, he brought home a deer last week. To eat. I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about this, but the unprocessed-foods-all-natural-organic-grass-fed-hippy inside of me is kind of excited.
— On Sunday, I took two of my favorite people out to the lake for their engagement session. I still kind of can't believe they're getting married in just a few months!!
— As you probably know by now, Lucas is a fantastic cook. And this week, he made pizza... which actually isn't all that uncommon in our house, except that he makes the best pizza in the entire world and it's always a very good day when the house smells like freshly baked breads. I wish I could describe to you just how delicious his BBQ pizza is, but there truly are no words.
— I finished a major project that I've been working on for at least a year now, and I'm so, so, so excited that it's done. Like. I can't even express to you how excited I am that it's done. And... that's about all the details I'm going to share about that. :)
— This week, Luke has been on a James Bond kick, so we watched a few of the most recent movies in the evenings. And when I say we watched, I mean he watched and I browsed Pinterest and sort-of-kind-of paid attention. Because really, though... fast cars and unending action scenes are not exactly my idea of a good time, but I endured because Lucas cooks me food and is generally amazing and marriage is compromise, ya'll.
— Every year for the past four-ish years, we've either hosted or participated in our annual Friendsgiving in Arkadelphia. About a week before Thanksgiving, we all get together and bring a favorite Thanksgiving dish pot-luck style (because we are in the south!) and every year, it's just such a joyful, wonderful evening. Sadly, since everyone is growing up and moving on, this was probably our last Friendsgiving in Arkadelphia... but we definitely had a great time and hope to continue to the tradition in the future in one form or another.
Happy Friday, friends - I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
