An Arkansas Historic Home Wedding | Cody & Hailey
When she woke up, it was still dark and cloudy, with a spurt of misty rain falling occasionally. But despite the weather - despite everything that had happened leading up to this day - today was the day that she would become Mrs. Bean.
And absolutely nothing could ruin that.
Hailey got ready slowly that morning, surrounded by her friends and family in a house that meant so much to her. Just earlier that week, when it began to rain (and rain and rain) and just wouldn't stop, she learned that the venue she had planned to be married in for over a year was no longer an option. So, just a few days before she would say "I do," Hailey and Cody made plans to move the wedding to a family home in Nashville, Arkansas that had been vacant for years. And honestly, it couldn't have been more perfect. The old, historic house and its beautiful wood floors, charming decor, and large empty rooms was not only a gorgeous place to be married, but a special and sentimental place for Hailey and her entire family. So even though things didn't go exactly as planned, it was so very clear that God had a plan all along... and it was better than anything we could have imagined.
Since I don't have any siblings of my own, Hailey is the closest person I'll ever have to a sister, and honestly one of my dearest friends. Cody played a huge role in our lives during our college years, and although Lucas would never admit it, he means the world to both of us and there is no one else we'd rather be the uncle of our future children. :) So, Hailey and Cody's wedding was a first for us in a lot of ways. It was the first time we've ever asked to be a part of the bridal party.... and the first time we've done so while also photographing the wedding we're in. It's the first time that I've ever worked with anyone besides Lucas, and ya'll - I absolutely couldn't have photographed this day without Cassie Jones. She handled all of the ceremony (since Lucas and I were both standing up front!) and the bridal party photos, and she was just an incredible additional to the day.
Hailey and Cody, I just love you both SO much and I truly couldn't be happier for you both! Thank you for trusting me to document your wedding, and I hope that these photographs always remind you of not only your love for one another, but God's faithfulness and grace towards you on your very first day as husband and wife.
