Five Things I'm Loving Lately
Hey, friend! Happy Friday!!
Imagine today's blog post as us sitting opposite each other in your favorite coffee shop, chatting about life and the things we're loving lately. It's super informal and somewhat random, but these are five things I've discovered recently and have absolutely loved! Because when you love something, you want to share about it, right? :)
1. This is Us
Because, I mean. Who HASN'T been loving this lately!? I don't watch very many shows in real time because we don't have TV, but I heard about this one and watched this one online as I edited over the past few months, and ya'll. ALL of the feels. So far, I'm not loving it as much as I loved Parenthood (one of my all time favorite TV shows), but we're only one season in and I have high hopes for it. Plus, you can't go wrong with Milo Ventimiglia. :)
2. Walmart grocery
I'm sure you know by now that Lucas is absolutely the cook in our family, not me. I struggle to find time to go to meal plan and go to the grocery store, so Lucas ends up going almost every single day and purchasing one dinner at a time. Which is extremely ineffective, and we end up wasting more food and money than I'd like. Enter Wal-Mart grocery. If I can find an hour to sit down and plan our meals out for the week, I can order everything I need online and Lucas can pick it up on his way home from work. We've only done it once so far, but the food we ate was much healthier that week and it felt like magic to come home to a fully stocked fridge.
3. "Knowing God" by J.I. Packer
This book has been sitting on our bookshelf for years now, and I finally picked it up and started reading it. I'm about halfway through, and it's been a super refreshing read. It's biblically sound and continually points me back to Jesus and the gospel, which I really appreciate.
4. Lily Lolo Mascara
At the beginning of the year, I threw out all of my regular "toxic" makeup and have been slowly replacing it with more natural options. This mascara has been my favorite purchase so far! It works just as good as the drugstore version I was using previously, and it doesn't smear or flake off. Plus, the packaging is gorgeous, which is always a plus in my book. :)
I've been an Evernote user literally since I started my business. I have hundreds of notes in Evernote, and I loved having a place to dump everything in my brain and keep it all organized. It worked perfectly for me until an update about a year ago that restricted the free version to only two devices. This meant I could access all of my files on my laptop and desktop computers, but not on my phone or iPad. I know this is totally #firstworldproblems, but I love being able to have a virtual notebook that I can access anywhere, all of the time. So, I started looking around and found OneNote. Ya'll. It's PERFECT. Not only does it seamlessly sync between every device, it has a far superior folder structure and significantly more flexible notes. I seriously love everything about it and wish I had of switched earlier! All of this to say - if you're an Evernote user (or just looking for a more robust option to keep all of your notes!), check it out. It's amazing.
