Favorite Things: Winter Edition

It's been a while since I've done a post like this, but I'm going to aim four seasonal "favorites" posts a year to catch you guys up on what I'm loving! I live a simple life and the things I use on a daily basis don't change much from season to season, so instead of makeup, skincare, or clothing (which is honestly not my area of expertise anyway!), my favorite things always revolve around things that add joy and simplicity into my life. I hope the following inspires greater joy and simplicity in your life too.
The Day Designer
I've used this planner for YEARS. I think I bought my first Day Designer in 2013, and it's kept me organized ever since. Last year, though, I didn't use it as much as I would have liked, so my 2017 planner is still mostly empty. I thought it would be wasteful to buy a new one this year since my current one has so much empty space, so I'm repurposing last year's planner and loving the extra focus that it brings to my days. I'm much more productive whenever I have a to-do list and a schedule for the day, and the Day Designer is the perfect way to keep me organized and focused.
There's nothing better on a cold winter night than snuggling up with a warm drink, but I've never been a big fan of tea. Apple Cider is typically my go-to instead, and I really like the no sugar added version that Whole Foods sells. I bought a ton of it when I was sick about a month ago (because warm drinks feel SO good on a sore throat!) and just finished off my stash last night.
High Waisted Black Jeans
I've never owned high waisted jeans before, and I bought my first pair this year. I'm officially obsessed. They're SO comfortable, they go with absolutely everything, and I'm seriously considering getting rid of every other pair of jeans I own because now I never wear them.
The Online Marketing Made Easy Podcast
I like listening to podcasts while I exercise, and this one has been my favorite for the past few months! Most of my marketing efforts are spent online, and I've learned a lot about smart strategies and implementation from Amy! If you're an entrepreneur and marketing online, I highly recommend listening to Amy's podcast.
Basically everything I cook these days comes from Dana at Minimalist Baker. I LOVE that all of her recipes are simple, quick, and only require a few basic ingredients that I usually already have on hand, and I've yet to try a recipe that isn't delicious. Highly highly highly recommend (especially this noodle free pad thai recipe! I could eat it every day of my life).
The Apple Watch
I'll be the first to admit that I didn't NEED an apple watch. I've used a Fitbit Charge 2 for a little over a year, and I honestly LOVED it. I don't like the idea of having a computer strapped to my wrist all of the time, so the Fitbit did everything I needed. Except look good. So, I got an apple watch for Christmas, and I have to admit... it's a major upgrade. I still don't use many of the features, but it looks beautiful and I adore the color screen. Also, being able to swipe items off my grocery list at the store without using my phone is life changing. I'm sure I'll continue to grow in to using it's features, but for now I'm super happy with it just for the way it looks (and the fact that it's waterproof!).
