I've never loved mornings more than when I was in college. It was the most sleep deprived period of my life to date, but also one of the most sweet. I remember rolling into bed after midnight most days, only to get up before the sun. I'd quietly slip into the dorm common space, turn on the coffee maker, and cuddle up in my favorite chair to read my Bible and watch the sun rise out of our third story window. These moments were sweet and quiet. Undistracted. Unhurried moments of exploration mixed with contemplation. Moments just for me before the busyness of the day and the expectations of the world came crashing down around me.Read More
It's been a while since I've done a post like this, but I'm going to aim four seasonal "favorites" posts a year to catch you guys up on what I'm loving! I live a simple life and the things I use on a daily basis don't change much from season to season, so instead of makeup, skincare, or clothing (which is honestly not my area of expertise anyway!), my favorite things always revolve around things that add joy and simplicity into my life. I hope the following inspires greater joy and simplicity in your life too.Read More
If you’re familiar with art and design terminology, white space is a compositional element where the artist chooses to leave a portion of the page unmarked. Wikipedia says that white space shouldn't be "considered merely 'blank space'- it's an important element of design which enables the objects in it to exist at all.”Read More

Lucas makes fun of me because he says that if a brand has the word "simple" or "simply" in its name, I'll automatically purchase it. Every time I come home with another "simply organic" brand, he laughs and I roll my eyes, but considering the fact that we painted half of our house "simply white" by Benjamin Moore, he might be on to something...Read More
The sun wasn't up yet, but I was.

While many people wait until January to change their lifestyle, I decided last year that things needed to change. Right. Now. So instead of waiting until 2018, I made five changes that are now habits that I'm working hard to maintain every single day. All of these changes have made my life exponentially better, and I truly wish I had of started them years ago.Read More
It's late, and I'm so tired. So, instead of setting an early alarm like I know I should, I don't set one at all. The next morning, I let my body wake me up when it wants to, and surprise - it's far later than I had hoped. I tell myself that I can lie there for just a few minutes, scrolling through Instagram, and a few minutes turns into ten (or, let's be real, thirty) until finally I manage to drag myself out of bed and make some coffee.Read More
now is the time for you to think about how you want to grow in 2018. So whether you love setting goals or hate it, these are the five things that I encourage you to reevaluate as we look forward to 2018.Read More
